    • Embedded Software and Hardware Engineering Consultant. Worked with a Real Time Operating System on the Siemens 166 family of micro controllers to develop and document a series of industrial monitors; including conductivity, resistivity, and pH of liquids.
  • Fall 1997: Orion Research, Beverly, MA.
    • Embedded Software Engineering Consultant. Wrote software upgrades to existing line of laboratory equipment to perform specific functions for a non-technical chemistry environment. Wrote software specification for changes to existing products.
    • Embedded Hardware Engineering Consultant. Made hardware changes to an existing 80154 based product to combine features of another product.
  • Summer 1993 - Summer 1997: Analog and Digital Systems (aka, a/d/s/) Woburn, MA. Design Engineer
    • Designed control hardware and software for high end audio equipment using the Intel 8051 family of micro controllers. Limited software and hardware work on Motorola 56K DSPs.
    • Engineer in charge of first generation a/d/s/ multi-zone audio systems maintenance, including upkeep of the SC6 system controller's software and hardware.
    • Engineer in charge of product specification and design of second generation a/d/s/ multi-zone products, DOMINET II, winner of CES's Innovations 97 award.
  • Summer 1992 - Summer 1994 Data Lite Woodstock, NY.
    • Software Engineer. Design of Algorithms and Source Code: Wrote and debugged programs in 80x86 assembly, C, and FoxPRO. Programs included music and sound reproduction, video capturing and recognition, and API code for FoxPRO.
  • Fall 1991 - Summer 1993 Clarkson University undergraduate ECE Lab, Potsdam, NY.
    • Technical Lab Assistant. Assisted students with class projects. Repaired lab equipment and maintained lab computers.

SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE:

Familiar with SPARC, RS6000, Amiga, Apple II, Machintosh (68K, G3, G4, and G5), and IBM PC/AT architectures as well as VMS, UNIX (SYSV and BSD), and MS-DOS operating systems. Have done extensive programming in Lisp, Prolog, Small Talk, C, Pascal, Fortran, Basic, TI MSP430, 8x86 and 8051 assembly language, FoxPRO, DCL script files, Perl, YACC and UNIX shell programming. I have written applications using embedded real-time operating systems (such as QNX, CMX, and uCOS), as well as real-time critical applications without the use of an RTOS. I have also done programming for MS Windows (3.x, 95, 98, 2000, & XP), and the X Window system.

HARDWARE KNOWLEDGE:

Familiar with TI MSP430, Microchip PIC, Atmel AT-mega, Intel 8051 and 80x86 families and Infineon 166 family of micro-processors / micro-controllers as well as Motorola 56K series DSPs. Familar with IAR and Keil C-compiler and debugging enviroments. Designed projects have used but are not limited to the following technologies: 74 and 4000 series logic, GALs, PALs, ROMs, SRAMs, UARTs, E2ROM, FRAM, flash, I2C bus, SPI bus, RS232, RS485, and RS422 bus drivers, VF and LCD displays, analog to digital and digital to analog converts, op-amps, and power supply design. Familiar with Orcad, Protel and Viewlogics schematic capture and PADS PCB layout.
